Anyone had good results after a re-clear coat, or would it just come back hazy again?
The clear coat will haze them, but zoop seal won't. You can get some from eastwood.com or i think Josh is going to offer it on his new site: http://www.chromeandperformance.com/

I removed the clear coat from my stock ws6 rims, they looked awsome for about a day! Now everytime I get a car wash the rims look like !!!!, I have tried to repolish them but have not been able to make them as shinny as when I just removed the clear coat. Is there anything I can do to make this easier? I would like my rims to look polished again and maybe if i am lucky have them stay this way for a while.

The only thing you can really do is keep polishing them unless you want re-clear coat them with the Zoop Seal mentioned above. Mine got really hazy and water spots wouldnt come off with washing so I busted out my buffing compound and buffing wheel and hit it with some white rouge and it brought the shine right back to what it was right after I removed the clear.

they look nice. I too have the originals in my garage, they came with the car when I bought. previous owner had chrome z06 on them when I bought my WS6 and gave me the original rims. they look something like ur's . just a little tlc and chrome shine will be back.

My clear coat is peeling bad and parts of rim is starting to get pretty gross w/ it losing almost all shine is spots where the clear coat has been gone for a few months. Would this help clean up those sections too? I'm thinkin about doing it this weekend

thanks for this write up, incredible difference. now i can save money for power mods instead of wheels. i'll post pics when im done.

im also painting my calipers while the wheels are off...red on NBM. i dont know how it will look ive never seen it before.

Covers? Get some chrome lug nuts along with some locking ones so the crooks don't make off with your shiny rims.

Man those do look great. I did the same thing, but they where on my GTP. They really looked good until winter hit, then even zoops couldn't save them. I ended up drinking a little much and side-swiped a curb, so now I'm down to stockers again, but who cares, car is getting old. I may end up doing this to my WS6 and having the rear wheels widened. Again Great Work!!
