Tire Help!!!!

what do you guys have on your aftermarket rims? I am getting 18x9.5 up front and 18x10.5 in rear but I don't know what tire size to go with? It is a daily driver and I never go to the track, but I wanna grab when I punch it because I mess around on the streets a lot!

Im thinkin

275/40/18 & 295/40/18 OR
275/35/18 & 295/35/18

what do you guys think? whats the advantage or disadvantage of going either of those routs?

275/35ZR18 front and 295/35ZR18 rear. That is what I run, and an very happy with them.

High end tires Michelin Pilot Sports, to the low end Kuhmo Ecsta MX.

Unfortuantely the tire selection is limited, especially if you want the same brand tire front and rear.

I don't really care if they are the same brand but I would prefer it. I was thinking Kumho but which ones? 711's, 712's?

Kuhmo Ecsta MX's . . . . Neither the 711 or 712 . . .

I have them now. They are OK. A bit heavy, little noisy and take a bit of wieght to balance them.

well if they are heavy and noisy why would I want them? are they a step up from the 711's and 712's or cheaper?

Because the 711 and 712 do not come in the sizes you want . . . .

40 series are too tall. The 35 series will maintain closes to OEM overall diameter, so your speedo will not be off.

And IMHO running 40 series tires on 18" wheel defeats the entire reason for taller wheels.

The taller tires will rub more, during cornering and possibly over bumps.

They are pretty decent tires for the price. I really do not think you can beat the tire for it's price. If you are willing the shell out just a tad bit more the BFG's are a good choice.

Perhaps because 711s and 712s don't come in larger sizes, either rimwise or width wise. At least, I took MXs because I couldn't find 711s and 712s in larger rim sizes or widths exceeding 275.
