Default Would 275/50R17s fit stock SS

Ok, I couldn't find any info on this. I put a turbo on my car, but it already had 4.11s is it, which is too big of a gear. I currently run 275/40R17s and I think 275/50R17s would be about like going back to 3.42s. Would they fit? BTW I have the SS chrome wheels from SLP.

Thanks,

I've seen them on stock 17x9.5 WS6 wheels and they looked like they fit fine. They look skinnier than than the 275/40s so you may want to rethink your front tire size and go with something a little skinnier.

275/50/17s are almost 28" tall, 275/40/17s are only like 25.5 inches tall...the tires i have in the back of my car are 27 inch tall and they pretty much fill up the wheel well at stock height, and thats only 235s, i'm sure somebody knows if those taller tires will clear...but i doubt they would work in the front though...

and good luck trying to find that size, i sure cant...

I have been thinking of doing the same thing. M&H makes a DR in that size.

Yes. I saw that and it gave me this crazy idea. If they would fit, it would be nice to see what my new gears will be like without all the expense. I will be saving for a new rear end for awhile since the turbo kit has put a dent in the car mod budget. Anyways the nitto DRs are just about shot and the rears are the only place I would put them of course. My front tires last forever, it's the rears that seem to disapear fast. I wonder why .

2 things. first is it would prob be cheaper and more benificial in the long run to just swap the gear set out instead of trying to compensate with tires. second if this car gets a lot of street time your abs is going to have a fit with a 28 out back and 25.5 up front.

Yes. The ABS is not controlled by the engine computer.

If I yank the ABS fuse and just deal with the Inop. light on the dash, will I have any mechanical issues with the brakes while driving/racing?

I have not had ABS or TCS on my car since I bought it, no issues.

What size tires are you running to not have issues?

you will have issues with the abs with that much of a difference in tire size and why would you want to roll around on 275/50/17s anyway it would look retarded.. if you used it for drag only then ok maybe but for regular use it would be stupid.
