staggered 17/18 TTII combo??
I have a red 02 ws6 and want to get the TTII's but not sure which way to go. I thought about 18's all around but they only make a 18x8 w/ 5.25 bs for the front and I dont want the front wheels sticking out anymore due to rock chips and stuff. Would a 17x9.5 and 18x10 combo look good or would it look pretty goofy?? I havent seen many people run that setup so thats why I'm asking. And the 17x11's stick out too far for my taste....i've already looked at that b4 anyone brings those up. Thanks fellas!

I am thinking of doing the 18" rear mainly because it is so hard to get 17" 315s tires. There are alot of 18" 315s. Just not sure about the rubbing with car being lowered. Looks like there would be room. Forget the ABS, haven't used mine in the 4 years I have had a TA, except to play (man these cars can stop!!).

People think that because you have different diameter wheels front and back will upset the ABS,....well, it will, if you don't compensate with your tires. The ABS doesn't give a damn about what size your wheels are, it only cares about the overall diameter of the tires. So if you're running a 17 up front and a 18 in the back, the sidewall of the tire on the rears will have to be smaller than on the front to make up for the larger wheel.
Don't confuse wheel diameter with overall tire diameter, because what upsets the ABS is if either the front or rear wheels spin faster as compared to the other set of wheels, which can happen if the overall diameter of, for example, the front tires is smaller than the rear tires.
As long as the tire diameter stays the same, you can put a 15" in the front and a 20" in the back....that would look a little odd though.

When I first bought my car 3 years ago, I was going to buy TTII's 17" x 9.5" front and 18" x 10" back, but then they told me I would have to wait 6 - 8 weeks for them to be made from AR . I wanted them before X-MAS, so I just got 17" x 9.5" all the way around. It worked out great because I was able to rotate my tires and I was able to make them last over 50k miles! (rotated and balanced every 6k miles)
I'm still going to buy some 18"s out back for the street, then I'll either sell my other 17"'s or put a drag radial on them for the weekends, I have 16" MT ET Streets (back) and 16" runners (front) on Weld rims for the track.

I had a 17/18 Z06 combo. As long as the total diameter of the wheels/tires is VERY close they're fine. I had 17x9.5 with 275/40's in the front and 18x10.5 with 295/35's in the rear.
