Default Total Weight Savings from WS6 rims to Pro Stars?

I tried the search and it didn't seem to work, but how much weight would I be saving if I went with some pro star rims all around instead of ws6 rims?

Not very much. You will save a few pounds by running the skinnies up front though.

~80 lbs if you go with 15x8 out back and 15x3.5 up front.

Not to mention the few ounces lighter that your wallet will be. That is, if you can find a set of Prostars.

I dont think it is 80 lbs.. I have a set of Prostars 15x3.5s & 15X10s. The fronts are definately lighter than the WS6 wheels, but the back feel like they are pretty close the same weight.

LS69TA has the right idea...

Wheel Weight . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (lbs.)
WS6/ZR1 (chrome) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 20.5
Weld Prostar 15x8 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 13.0
Weld Prostar 15x3.5 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10.0
Do the math - it'll be ~40lbs worth of weight reduction in the rims only. As long as he doesn't go with the absolute most steel belted heavy radial tire on the market, I can't imagine 60lbs worth of weight savings being hard to see. 80 might be a stretch, but it will definitely be enough to make a noticeable difference.

Like I said, I have 15x10 Prostars on my car with a 28" MT drag radial and also have the stock WS6 wheel with a 28" street radial tire on it. I was swapping wheels the other day and thought about this.. So, I picked up one of each and couldnt hardly feel a diff in weight.

I think most of the weight savings is gonna come from the front, going to the skinnys.

what kind of 1/4 mile time difference did you all notice while swapping from stock tires to the weld wheels? Is 3/10ths asking too much with a tr224 and 3500 stall?
