sizing tires for lowered car
Ok i did a search and I came up with some info, but Im still a little confused. Im new to the whole tire and wheel thing.
Iam ordering 19" ruff racing 278's. 8.5 upfront and 9.5 outback. I will also be lowering the car 2".
Now I am assuming the best tire sizes would be 245/35 upfront and 275/35 outback. What do you guys think of clearance. Wheels have 35mm offest upfront and 45mm offest outback. Will I be ok with those tire sizes on my lowered car? Any suggestions? I apprecaite the help in advance thanks guys.

if your front tire is narrower, you want more of a sidewall so the tires are the same height as the rear.. you could go with a 40 in the front.. here use this and as you find tire sizes add them in there and try and find tires between 25.5 and 26 in tall with the taller being in the rear. You widths are on for 19s any bigger and you might have problems..

thats just one of several calculators.. its not the best but it will work..
Do you not like 18s because there are a lot more tires available and they look great on fbodys

haha 18s look good and let you fit a wider tire with more of a sidewall.. My 295/35s didnt really hook what so ever.. I know that 285 30 19s would suck.. I would go with the 18s. It will save you money on tires and youll have more options.
edit- i just saw you plan on lowering it 2", i missed that before. I would def go with the 18s then with a 255 or 265 front and 285 rear.. the 8.5 front and 9.5 rear will match up perfect for those widths... What springs and shocks are you going with?

ive never heard of those springs but i know the koni sa's are good.. I think im going to go with qa1s though bc ive heard theyre more adjustable for both street and track.. How much do those springs lower the car? I was going to go with the Pro kit but now im thinking hotchkis bc i hear its only slightly over an inch and im not looking to slam the car..

haha yeah well id like mine really low but i also want to go to the track so i guess you cant have the best of both worlds.. Thats why i like the qa1s, ive heard they work well for both because theyre really adjustable..

the roads suck here too.. It hasnt snowed yet but theres always a ton of pot holes after winter and theres too many inclined streets that i find myself taking at 2 mph on stock height.
