Default Miss matched tires???

I know that a lot of people are **** about their car as I am too but do you guys think that having mismatch front/rear tires is "dorky/stupid" looking or would you even notice?

I am only talking about the brand and maybe tread pattern of tires...

Not at all, I had mismatched tires for a while and I didnt really notice, nor did anyone else. What is going to be your set-up/reasoning behind having a mismatch anyway?

Well on one set up I was thinking about doing, the rear tires are very wide so there won't be much of a selection, but the front tires since they are not as wide there is a lot of selection. If I want to match the front tires to the rear it will cost me around $220 more...

I am ****, I did it for a few months and it bothered the **** out of me. I think I know your tastes well enough David to say its going to bother you. Its also something I think judges notice at shows. I went back to all 4 tires being the same with the CCWs David.

I think you are right, I will just have to suck it up and get all the tires at least the same brand

This is my setup:

Goodyear GS-D3 275/40ZR17 front
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD 315/35ZR17 rear

and it doesn't bother me one bit!

I hate mismatched tires, drives me nuts. With one exception, if you have some sort of racing tire in the back (Drag radials, ET Streets, etc.) then it looks fine, IMO, because the reason is obvious.

I don't see anything wrong with it but it would probably drive me nuts just because I have a slight case of OCD....D....D....D.....D (see I have to say D 5 times). Just kidding. But seriously, mismatch em....who cares?

Default Which option would you go with?

I have a few different tire options and this is not counting tax, shipping, mount and balance or the price of the wheels…

Option 1 for $1222 (matching brand name and tread pattern)

rear:Continental ContiSportContact 3

front:Continental ContiSportContact 2

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Option 2 for $1148 (matching brand name but tread pattern is different)

rear: Yokohama ADVAN Sport

front: Yokohama AVS ES100

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Option 3 for $1022 (mismatched)

rear:Continental ContiSportContact 3

front: Yokohama AVS ES100

Well, none of those would make MY tire choice list, so do as you wish.

Rear: MT ET Street Radial
Front: BFG KDW
Well under your price tag, and far better performance.

Or what I HAVE had:
Avon 550 x 4, all 275/40/17
Kumho 712, same
WAY under that pricetag, and I'll be happy to go play in the corners with ya.

Of course, if you have 18s, you've already made your choice... and performance isn't it.

I am going with the larger rims so my tire options are very slim...

If you are paying $3k for wheels (was in the other thread) then you better have matching tires. What's another $200?

Agreed. I wouldn't want any of those, IMO.

Srry guys, I don't think I made my self clear. I already have a set of drag radials. There is a few sets of wheels I am thinking about getting and they will be in 19's or 20's with very wide rear tires and their ONLY purpose will be for show! When going to the bigger/wider wheels you don't have any selection of tires to choose from. The choices I previously posted (which are the tires they put on the Porche and other high end cars) are all the choices I have, so out of those options (1, 2, or 3) which would you go with?

Thnx David

If those are the only options avaliable on the market, I'd pick option #1.

Get used to the criticisms David, everyone will always want to tell you how you SHOULD have spent your money. I am going through it again, I should have gotten 315s according to everyone that doesn't own my car or manage my money.
