Default 8" vs 10", do I need the extra meat?

DD / weekend H/C strip car. ~400RWHP, auto, 3200 stall.

Are 8" rims with ETStreets big enough for drag racing or do I need 10s?

I run my stock Firehawk rims on the road, this would be purely for the track.

I agree.

They also require more grinding of my LS1 brakes and potentially some "clearancing".
More importantly; I picked a set of 15x8 prostars in a deal along with the skinnies I wanted,
I want to know if I should sell them and go for 10's or not.

I'd like to figure that out now because the tracks won't be open here for several months.
And last I checked those things had a 2-3 month backorder.

They came with 275/50/15 MT ETStreets (almost brand new)
I'll probably run those for now and see what happens.
I can always get something different later.

I was wondering the same thing a while back, and decided to go with 8s.
