Default Go for the 18's or settle for 17's?

I'm really liking the Torque Thrust II's in 18x9 and 18x10 even though I know they are a bit played out. 17's are much more readily available and cheaper but does anyone regret going with 17's over the 18's they wanted? I'm on 16" stock chrome rims so anything bigger will be an improvement. I've seen plenty of cars look great on the 17's but I think I may just want the 18's. Discuss and post pics if you want.

Im looking to get some new wheels too, and I thought about it for a long time, and i think im going for 18x9.5's all around (so i can roatate). And your right, TT2's are disgustingly played out. Be origional, get somthing else.

They are overused but thats when your looking on here...It won't be so bad in your area (most likely) I like TT2's and I would say 17's

youll be much happier with 18's. I agree with them only being played out on the net. I have not seen one Fbod with TT2's around my area.

thanks for the input guys. I've seen maybe two fbods with TTII's in my area so it should be fine plus I have a good deal of little things going on to set mine apart regardless....I think the 18's are where I'm goin.

I agree^, I haven't seen any f-bods with TTII's in my area, let alone many fbods. If you like the look, which most on here do, then go for them. I'd also go for the 18's.

I haven't seen any in my area, though when I went to the Camaro Superfest everyone and their neighbor had either TTII's or ZR1's it seemed. You have to admit there aren't a ton of options without spending $4000 on a set of wheels. I was going to go 18" but at the rate I go through rears 17's are more reasonable!

I think the 17" TT2 look better than the 18" because the spokes of the 18's make it look kind of wagonwheelish to me. I mean its not really that big of a difference, but in 17" they look much more muscular.

Also, put me in the group of not seeing people with TT2's or hardly any Fbodys period.

If you think you want 18's now, you'll only regret getting 17's. Your title even says "settle for 17's," so it seems like you've already come close to making up your mind.

Also, I hardly see any really modded F-bodies around town, half of them are stock, and the other half are stock v6s. I agree with some of the others in this thread, you won't have a played out wheel if you go with the TTII's.

I have never seen an Fbody in person with them either...I think they are awesome lookin rims.

I went with 17 and 18's. I think the staggered look is good looking, but there is nothing wrong with 17's all around...especially if you drop it.

Well some good news came in...getting a very nice tax refund so I'll be purchasing a set of 18x9 Front and 18x10 Rear TTII's with chrome spoke and a polished hoop. I will also be going with 275/35's for the front and 295/35's GS-D3's for the rear. This will be very close to the overall diameter of my stock wheels so my speedo will be marginally off. Once they are bolted on I will see if the car needs to be lowered. I don't have much room to do so because my longtubes are kinda low already. Thanks for the opinions guys. I think I'm making the right choice.

Anyone know how long it will take to get these since these will be a custom order? Also which offset will be appropriate?

Thanks again

-Brian
