Should I powdercoat?
Should I powdercoat? I have been throwing this idea around forever. I'm sure you have all seen the powdercoated wheels on the GMMG BlackBirds. It is a glossy silver/dark silver looking color and I think it looks great. It would be something I need to set my car apart, being a Black WS6 with TT2's.
I would have just the spokes done. The center cap and the rim would be left polished. It would be nice not to have to ever polish those spokes again
It would still work with my black/silver/polished color theme, though it may be a bit darker than that. I am having trouble deciding, because I really like both (original polished, and powdercoated) and would like them either way.
What do you think? I can put up some pics if people aren't famaliar with the BlackBird.

If your car was silver like mine, I'd say do it. I think that's a great look. But IMO dark wheels - even just spokes - dull down a black car. Black cars are best with the bling from chrome or polished.

It HAS to look awesome though and cannot detract from the car. If I did powdercoat it would of course be glossy, clearcoated, and waxed like the rest of my car. No dull crap here.

Going by the pics of the black blackbirds (does that make them extra black?

I would say go for it, simply because it is not going to darken your rims so much that is like putting some black motorsports on your car.
