Default HP Evo Owners Need your help.

Im thinking about HP Evos soon. I have a 2000 Camaro Z28, its lowered about 1.5 inches. Im gonna get the 19x9.5. I was wondering did the rims fit good on our cars, or does it need any special spacers or adapters? also what size tires should i get for the fronts and backs without having any rubbing? any tips or info would be welcomed too.

they will fit good, the difference between the centercap and the hub is minimal... To be honest i actually used teflon to make sure it bolted on properly without vibrations (not necessary). I went 275 30 all four, but my next will be 275 30 up front and 295 30 in the rear... If any rubbing uccurs its nothing that i cant solve by using a bat to roll the fender (very easy)... Consider that these wheels are heavy (as most 19's)... Here in europe i run track weekly, never had any issues of damaging (cracking the wheel) even under the most severe conditions...
Hope this helps

I never had any probs with mine just bolt right up. I even tracked them sometimes. Here a quick pic of it. They are also easy to clean with the clear coat.

No rubbing at all. There not wide enough. I had 275/30/19's all the way around. Good luck man. Post some pics when there on.

I don't have the 19's I have the 18's and 275 all around is a good fit, I had a tiny bit of rubbing on the front when I would corner but I fixed that.

I bought hub centering rings, they slide right on and were only $10 for 4 of them.

if you're ordering a wheel/tire package, make damn sure you're getting at least 275s - I've personally seen one ebay vendor ship a set out with 245s and (although they fit), its just not enough tire for the rim. First flat and you're riding on metal...

275's start at $150, 295's start at $270.

I would also polish the lips to look like chrome before mounting them. Makes it look so much nicer.

Shuck, can you give us details on the rings?

Here is some pictures that show you what they look like and how to put them on:

It is pretty cut and dry, I have plastic ones and they are great, I am going to machine some aluminum ones just because I have some free time in class, either will do. Some people get away without them, but I figured for $10 it was a good piece of mind.

Excellent. If I go with a 5x120 rim I'll get them for sure, just in case.

Woah. I looked up a few rims and they are $40. I guess the prices went up.

I am not sure what your diameters are on your wheels but did you check this site:

http://www.prestigewheel.com/RetailHubRings.asp

I got mine from where I ordered my wheels, if you haven't ordered yet ask them if they sell them.

I suppose you could put your rims on and take a drive and see if they vibrate or not. If they do, then get the rings. Some people use them, some don't.

I think plastic would be fine. It's just to hold the rim centered while you tighten the lugnuts. After that they don't do anything.

Some people get away without them and never have problems. I decided to get them because they were cheap and it was a nice piece of mind for me. People have rolled on the EVO's for a long time and been fine, others said their lug nuts would come loose and so on. It is a judgement call for you.

Plastic or metal it doesn't matter, they only center the wheel they don't rotate or anything. I have plastic and two years later they are perfect, a friend has the aluminum ones on his Lexus and they are just as good.
