Best tire choice for an 18x10"/18x11" set-up?
So I just ordered some new wheels which should be here in a few weeks. Now come's my hunt on the perfect tire.
I'd like to run 285/35/18 up front and 315/30/18 out back as I think they would sit perfect on those width rims and fit the look I want.
I'm basing that on my previous set-up of 17x9.5" & 17x11" which had 275/40/17 Nitto 555's and 315/35/17 Nitto 555DR's which sat very nice and square on the rim.
I'm looking for a good handling tire that can hook pretty damn good! I'm not very concerned with rain, snow or cold weather grip/handling as the car NEVER comes out in those conditions.
I'd prefer not to run a DR in the rear as over 5 1/2 years on my previous set-up I got VERY sick of hearing my car get sandblasted and pebbles being thrown at it by the Nitto's
So, with all of that being said...
What would be the best sizes for rim width's of 10" and 11" that would fit nice and square and not bow in or out?
After researching tires it seems there are some that come in the sizes I was thinking and some that do not, what other sizes would fit well?
275? 295? 305? 335?
What would be some of the better/best tires that fit my criteria that I should look at?

Ditto on loving the BFG's. I too just ordered new wheels that should be here in a few weeks. I'll be wrapping them in BFG KDW NT w/ DR's out back.

I may just end up going with the BFG set-up
I'm really just dreading hearing the car get sandblasted every time I drive it. Damn thing is gorgeous and only has 12k miles on it.
How do you think 275's would sit on the 10" rim?

Hmmmmm, this throws a wrench into the mix
Maybe 295/35/18 BFG KDW's up front on the 10" rim and 315/30/18 BFG DR's on teh rear 11" rim?
Would teh 295's bulge out up front? How would that be too much of an aspect ratio?
I was told that KDW's run pretty wide, even wider than GS-D3's, is that correct?

what do you mean by "too much of an aspect ratio?"
the old grand sport vettes used to run a 285 on the 17x11. it didnt look too bad but a 295 would fit better in my opinion

I would say that is the best choice right there, unfortunately the tire choices for 315-30-18s is either shitty or $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
I ended up going with 285-35-18 for the fronts and 295-35-18 for the rears and everything fits perfect. I am extremely happy with the GS-D3s and they do run wider than other tires so they fit the 11s real good.
