Weld/draglites racing wheels backspacing?
Hey everyone. I am looking to get 2 15x4 front drag wheels and 2 15x10 rear drag wheels. Probably weld or pro star. Do you guys know what the correct backspaing is. I have heard 7.5", but i dont want to have any rubbing issues, and i like it whhen the tires stick out a little bit, so i am looking for some help. Thanks

The fronts are should be like a 2" backspacing, my 3.5" are 1.75". On the back, everyone that I've read about with 10" wheels run a 7.5" bs like you said; but you may go with a 5.5" bs if you want them to stick out. My personal opinion is that they would stick out too much, but to every man his own. Hope this helps you out some!

Maybe i will go with a 6.5" BS on the rear. I know the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.75. I just dont want to have rubbing issues. I am wanting to get drag tires and skinnies for the track, and then put on my street tires for cruising around town. I will look around for some wheels with those backspacing and sizes. I know there is a guy on ebay that builds them to your specs. Do you have any pics of your car with these wheels/tires on it?

Weld pro stars
I currently have 2 Pro Stars 15x10 7.5" backspace. Weld #96-510284. I am going to mount these wheels on my car with MT ET Street Radial 275/50/15 tires this week. I will be sure to make a post with how they fit. Anyone know the deal with pro stars in the front?? I guess you need a wheel spacer?

just mounted my prostars in the rear tonight. They fit with about 1/2" clearance between the sidewall and the inner fender. I set the tires to 32psi. Good enough for me, no rubbing!!!

Prostar 15x10 How to make it fit on rear...
I finally finished up installing my Prostars 15x10 7.5" backspace on my car tonight. You will need to:
Grind rear calipers down about 1/4" so the rims don't rub on the calipers
Install 3.25" ARP wheel studs so you can properly tighten the wheels
Use shank style open ended lug nuts of you want to drag race with them
Also i used a 5/16" wheel spacer for a little extra clearance
There is no inner fender bending, hammering necessary if you do what i did. Hope this info helps out...
