Default Need help with choosing the best wheel size for my car

I am getting a set of Ruff Racing 278's in chrome for our 1999 SS

Here is where I am torn.

I can't decide between 18's all around, 18/19 combo(liking this right now), or 19's all around.

PLEASE POST PICS. I have searched, but have not found anything great as far as 18/19 combos especially!

Thanks

Chris

Id just go 18's all around. You gotta remember that its gonna be tougher to get traction with a shorter sidewall.

I've got Drag radials and some chrome zR1's at the house. I am basing these wheels off of looks alone! Mainly wanting to make sure I dont mind the rear having a little less sidewall.

I would go 18's. I would think the 19's in back would make traction impossible. Is bad enough now with my 17's...never had any issues with my 16's.

I would go 18x9.5's all the way around.

I am running a 45mm offset on all 4 but I would recommend a 35 on the fronts. I had to install 1/4 spacers to clear the LS1 calipers. Tires I am running 255/35/18 on the front for now but I am swapping them out for 275/35/18s. on the rear I have 275/30/19s right now with a pair of 295/30/19s waiting to be installed. I decided I wanted a little wider tire on the wheels. But overall I am very happy with the look!!

have you noticed traction issues having 19's in the back, i am really considering doing the 18's up front and 19's in back.

Your traction will get worse with the larger wheel for off the line launches but for cornering my car improved. I think the 295s will help a little bit but I am not expecting a miracle. I kept the 315/35/17 for track days.

Default 19's

You should go 19's I think you could fit enough tire behind there to get traction especially on a 9.5 inch rim.
