Need a straight answer - Polishing TT2's..
I am trying to decide between TT2's and TTM's..
The TTM's of course are chrome.. The TT2's are polished..
I've never owned a set of polished wheels.. I hear all kinda biatchin' and moanin' about how hard these wheels are to keep clean.. Polish them twice a month and all that..
Is this how it really is, or can these things go a month or two without a polish and still look good?
The TT2's are available all over the place.. The TTM's are backordered and no tellin' when they'll show up..
I LOVE the TT2's, but I am not able to detail my car twice a month to keep these things lookin' good..
So.. Anyone? Are the TT2's THAT bad?
Jeff
I also have read that if you put a normal automotive wax on them after you clean them, it will repel alot of ****. That might be something to consider also. And then there's all those polished metal sealants, which I'm sure all work "good enough".
Plus, TTII's just flat out own TTM's. TTM's look cheap all around and, in my book, don't even compare to the TTII's. In my opinion, TTII's look way classier on f-bodies. TTM's just look like mustang knock off wheels. I know alot of people bitch and moan about how they aren't mustang wheels, but they are. The shape of the spokes is similar but totally different than the TTII's.
It's your decision, but I think you will be much better off with the TTII's. If cleaning them is your only hick-up then maybe getting them painted a very light silver would be another option you could look into. This way it will retain the polished look but be ridiculously easy to clean. Sorry for the novel, /endrant
EDIT: I realize you said you cant detail your car twice a month, but in my book a detail is different than a regular cleaning. If you cant even clean the wheels once a week, you should check into powder coating like I stated above.
I do like the TT2's much better.. Maybe I should just suck it up and clean the wheels every now and then..

I'll look into clear coating them or just learning to keep them clean..

My car gets about 400 miles a month, I can keep it from being driven in rain, etc.. That'll help a lot..
I could go a couple of months before having to polish my wheels but I always liked how they looked right after a polish so I did it every couple of weeks but only spent about 20 min. total on them. If you keep them up it takes no time to get them looking good.
is polish the lip, much easier
