Tire Help Please! Alright I'm looking for some new street tires for the re end. I have Sumitomo HTR Z 31535zR17. I was just gonna buy another set of those but they said the tires shouldn't be used in freezing temperatures or snow. I wont be driving in the snow cuz i have a truck but i will be driving in freezing temperatures. Will this damage the tires?
I had my 315 Sumitomo's since November 2006. It freezes where I live and might snow once during the winter. The temperatures get in the high 20's low 30's. I have driven the car in these conditions and they were fine. Obviously if it's cold outside any tire won't grip as well but these are fine. I have beat them up, took them to the track, put 5,000 miles on them and they still look new. They don't hook as well as the bfg or goodyears but for $100 a tire it's a good deal. You will be fine.
