Default 305/30/19 fit a 19x12?????????

Will a 305/30/19 fit a 19x12 and actually look ok? I know a 325 fits good so I was thinking maybe i could go a little narrower and save the fender rolling mod and about 100 on tires. Let me know all you wheel guru's.

i dunno man. might be stretching the tire some. not sure how "big" the 305 street tires are.

considering people put 315's on 10.5/11 rims, i'd say it would be streching a 305 alot on a 12 rim. i understand saving a $100 per tire, but rolling the fender isnt that big of a deal.

reason i am asking a guy here on tech by the name of blwright had an 06 c6 with the cray scorpions 18 & 19's. the rear being 19's were 10.5's and i think he told me he put the factory tires on them. 285/30/19's. the point i am trying to make is his wheels were a .5in wider than stock with a 285. so wouldn't a 305 being 20mm wider which is 5.4mm shy of an 1 inch look the same as a 285 on a 10.5in wheel only the 305 and 12inch wheel would be wider? Thats what I am thinking. cause his wheel is 1.5in less and a 305 is almost an 1 inch wider than a 285? Does any of this make sense? It does to me but then again i also may be a little retared? a little i said not alot. LOL

ok, i just took a peep at Nitto's site, they make a 305/30/19 they say rim width to be 10.5-11.5. So whats another half inch? Not that much. SO I have made my decision. I am going to go for it. thanks fellas

Nittos run narrow compared to other tires.

man i dont see how you are going to "save" the fender rolling mod with a 19x12 wheel... even if you with with a narrow 305 nitto, which i dont think would work anyways bc nittos are so damn skinny compared to the way other tires run.

I don't get it . . . WHY force a tire onto a wheel that is beyond the manufacturer's recommendations? . . .

A few thoughts before your purchase.

The Legal: Putting a tire that is too narrow or too wide on any wheel will void your tire manufactures warranty. Tire manufactures make recommendations based on physics to keep you safe. Tires face forces in normal conditions that are enough to make some people worry but add to it improper fittment and you are asking for problems.

The function: Isn't the point of running that wide of a wheel to maximize the contact patch which will help you put your HP to the ground? Optimize your foot print with a wider tire. You will be much happier with the performance.

Ok, I emailed discount tire direct and this is what returned. I see alot of tires that are not actually the proper width for a wheel that people put on all the time. BMW's are notorious for it. See offset of the wheel i want is 59mm so its actually further in the wheel well than the 50mm zr1.

Hello Sammy,

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the 305/30R19 will fit on a 19x12 wheel.

I see what all of you are saying. I was using nitto as an example because other than brigdestone there are not many people out that make that specific size. I think that the 305 will fit the 12 like the 285 does on a 10.5. Yes its kinda not really made for that size wheel. Nor is a 285 made for a 10.5, it will fit and doesn't look all that bad but 295's fit it alot better. And as far as the hp goes i don't have the money to make a motor that will out preform that size set up. a mild cam and a tune isn't that stout. I want the looks now. I will work on hp at a later date.

ok, I called Travis at DTD and we discussed my idea, since i explained to him what I am trying to acheive. In all reality we both think that it should wk. He said that if I purchase the tires and wheels from him he would mount the tires on the wheels and mail them to me, once I pay for them of course. Then I will have tire and wheel in hand to see if my theory will work, which it should i fell confident that it will. So if in the event that it doesn't fit the way "I" key word, want them to i can send them back as long as I don't ride on them. So thanks Travis for your input.

the wheels offset is 9mm further to the inner wheel well than the 50mm zr1. I had the 11's with the 50mm on the rear of my z with the prokit(which is still on the car) a few months ago and they didn't scrape and I never rolled my fenders. So i feel confident that it will. And in the event that i have to roll them, then I guess I will be rolling them. Just trying to save money and energy without being stengy and it looking the way "I" want it to. But hey thanks for the input.

i believe in going larger than the manufactorer but not smaller......besides smaller looks like crap and if you have to do smaller to get them to fit you have the wrong wheels to begin with
335 is exactly 13.18in wide......thats what you need if you keep this setup

A 12" wide 59 mm offset wheel in not going to fit. You will need spacers.

First off in your comparison . . . 11" wide 50 mm offset wheels . . .

1: the wheel is moving inwards 9 mm or nearly 3/8" . . . .
2: the wheel is 1" wider, so from the center line of the wheel ther is 1/2" more material each side . . .

3: do the math . . . 3/8" + 1/2" = 7/8" more material to the inside of the wheel well, compared to the ZR1 . . . there isn't enough room.

IMHO, a 12" wheel does not fit in a F-Car wheel well.
