I have them in 295's in the rear. They hook better than the original goodyears that were on my car (given that those were 275's) but I haven't had them on the track, good street tire

I've had mine for about 30k mi., and they've got about another 5k left before I'll replace them. They're a decent street tire, but don't even bother going to the track if you want to hook (I was effectively doing burnouts at the tree). Just because they look like Nittos doesn't mean they'll hook like them.

I'm probably going to look at a different tire when I replace them, but they are a pretty good, predictable, good wet/dry handling, good wearing tire - and were definately worth the $600 shipped for the set from TireRack.

I just replaced my BFG KDWs with the wide ovals and couldn't be happier. Good traction, nice and quiet, great all around if you ask me.

They sound good. IDK if I should save an extra $2-300 and get them or get some Sumitomos. Im 18 and dont get paid that much so $200 difference is actually a pretty big deal.

well im 18 also and was in the exact same spot. i went with the sumitomos, and found out the hard way that they wear down wayyy faster than the wide ovals. and if i could do it all over again, i would've def got the firestones to begin with bc it's worth the extra money to have a tire that will last twice as long.

now if you needed 315's for a daily driver, then it would be a different story bc sumitomos can't be beaten at that price.

I dont need 315's, prolly 295's if they come in that size. They are going on a 10.5" wide wheel. Thanks for the advice. I think im gonna go with the firestones.

Do you drive the SS in our (not lately though) cold dry weather??
If so, how badly do the Wide Ovals 'go away' in temps <45*-50*?? I'm asking mainly about the left and right cold traction, but also straight line as well.

NO ONE makes a 295/17 tire. 285 and then 305
