Thanks for looking in....
Well, I need a new set of 275/40-17s
I don't want to spend a fortune on these, and they will [not] be used on the rear of the car at the track. Just looking for a set of fairly quiet, fairly soft ride, pretty good cornering ability, and most important: Good Wear
I have narrowed this down to 5 tires:
1. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
2. Bridgestone Potenza RE730
3. Bridgestone Potenza RE750
4. Yokohama AVS ES100
5. Kumho ECSTA MX
BTW, I am not happy with Dunlop tires, so they are not on the list.
What do ya think? If you have something better in mind for a price cheaper than $170 each, please tell me.
Thanks,
Ron

I'm casting a vote for the Goodyear F1 GS-D3.
At $185 each, it's a little bit expensive, but cheaper than alot of tires out there.
Check out the specs, ratings, and reviews on tirerack.com, it measures up to many of the best tires out there, usually for less money.
I've seen people use these tires as autocross tires, so they must stick pretty well.

spend a good amount of money on the front of the car if at all possilbe. buy a good pair of goodyears that poss. have runflat.. you can get the goodyears at a steep price, but the money is worth it. or go with BFG G-Force tires....heard lots of good things bout them..........

Thanks Octane and Frank...
Hey, we all buy tires sooner or later.
Anyone else with some input?
BTW, the tread design on these Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires may be a little hard to get used to. Kind of a 'Love Them' or 'Hate Them' design. I just wonder how well they wear in everyday driving...

You might want to look into Nittos's. They are not to $$$ and last a long time. I would not put anything else on my Z. I belive i paid less than $140 each for 275 x 40. Good luck!

I just ordered my set of GS-D3's three weeks ago. 275/40/17's for the front and 315/35/17's for the rear. The total came out to $900 I'm getting the $60 rebate that Goodyear has right now also.

Thanks so much for all the input.
Well, I might just get the GS-D3s
I am just a little worried that these Goodyears won't last as long as I am hoping. Maybe I'm wrong.
I believe the $60 rebate ends on 12 Jul

BFG kd's here as well, they are excellent. I have 35,000 miles on mine. The only thing I hate about them is I'm supporting the frogs by buying them.
