Default ccw tire size

i'm looking to get a set of ccw sp500 for my 01 z28.
i'm looking at either 18x10 front and rear or 18x10 front and 18x11 rear.

i've done some searching and it seems people are running 275x35 on the 10 inch wheel and a 295x35 on the 11 inch wheel.

i'm wondering why that is?? i'm running a 275x40 on my 9 inch wheel i currently have.

i was wanting to run a 295x35 on 10 inch wheels front and rear.

the tire size calculator all say that a 295 is in spec for a 10 inch wheel.

opinions??

thanks
tony

Yeah but you'll change the tire height. Stick with a 40 sidewall.

Sure, the 295 will fit on the 10 no problem but pretty sure it will rub when you turn the front wheel. Are your old 275 40's mounted on 17's, 18's or...? Also- go with the 11's in the rear in my opinion- more lip.

my tires now are 275x40-17s.

i was looking at 295x35-18s on 10 inch rims all the way around.

i know there are guys running 315x30-17s now up front, and they don't scrap.

As everyone has stated, the 295 in front might rub. I have 275's up front with 295 out back . 18x10, 18x11 SP16A's. I will prob go with a 305 or 315 in the rear after I melt these.

so if 295s rub up front, then why not go with a 9.5 inch front wheel with 275x35-18 and a 10 inch rear wheel with a 295x35-18???

a 9.5 inch front wheel and a 10 inch rear wheel should be cheaper than a 10 inch front and a 11 inch rear, right???

thanks

I don't think the narrower rims will be any cheaper. When I talked with someone at CCW, I understood them to say that the cost for a set was 2600. It didn't matter what width or diameter you wanted. That's what I understood, could be wrong though.
