Cool Got the new wheels put on the 69 Stingray

What a PITA it was too! I had to cut the e-brake brackets off and relocate the lines and cut the mufflers off. The mufflers will need to be welded back on at a slightly different angle- I'll get that taken care of soon. Oh and one other dilemma- some genius at discount tire decided that the two 275's should both go on the driver's side, and the two 255's should go on the passenger side. Or at least thats how the tires were mounted So I called them and they told me to take it to any place I felt comfortable with fixing the tire rotation and then fax them the bill and they will reimburse me. Of course I find this out about 4:00 yesterday after all the tire shops are closed So anyways, yes- I know the front left, and back right tires are facing the wrong directions, so no need to comment about them!

And no, its not an LS powered vehicle yet, but it soon will be! LS7/ T56 combo is awaiting install

Anyways, enjoy the pics

Very nice car. I'm not a big fan of big rims on older cars though. What size are they? It looks like you have a foot and half of ground clearance now.

They are 17x8 with 255/50 (27.04") & 275/50 (27.83") tires. The stock wheel & tire combo is 15x8 with 255/60 (27.05"), so if anything ground clearance would be a tad less in front since it has a slightly more raked stance now.

Yea, seeing all those cool toys you have just fuels my fire to finish up that ME degree. I'm loaded up with summer school right now, I'm just ready to get out and get a career and then really get some toys to play with. Keep up the good work

Not digging them, regular TT2s would have looked better. But, they are better than 15" rally wheels.

In this case I think the original Rally wheels would look much better. I cannot see the reason the TTM wheels are so popular. They just look like a cheap TT2 ripoff IMO. On top of that the tires are just way too tall. A 40 series sidewall would look MUCH better.

Geez, tough crowd over here... Guess its a whole different audience than on corvetteforum. Let me remind you all that these tires are lower profile than what was on there! And BTW- they are not TTM's

WTF what idiot didn't check tire sizes before mounting them????? At least they're reimbursing you for the fix, but damn man. That aside, that is a clean vette ya have there, and the rims just make it that much nicer. Good work bro.

i've seen worse, i've seen guys do tires on AMG Benzes, and put the big tire on the narrow rim and the little tire on the fat rim, and then put the big tires on the front. That ***** crazy.
