Default Weld 15x8 Prostars and MT Drag Radials

I currently have 15x8 prostars with 275/50/15 BFG drag radials and shift my car into overdrive at 103-105 mph roughly in the 1/4(6400 rpm) I trap roughly 123mph. I have a 4l60e and 9" w/ 4.11's, would 275/60's give me alot more gear? Any ideas on how much? What do you recommend 275/50's or 275/60's?

275/60s will give you less gear and get you close to the 1/4 in 3rd depending on what rpm you shift at.

I shft at 6500 and thats currently at 104ish, I want to keep it in 3rd, how much closer will the 275/60's get me? And for my application would it be better to run the 275/50's or 275/60's?

A 275/60 is a 28" tall tire where a 275/50 is a 26" tall tire, so a 28" will obviously knock your gear down some, there for you will beable to run it out a little more. What rear end gear do you have?

He's got a 9" with 4.11's (per original post)

OP- using a gear calculator, you would roughly pick up another 10MPH in 3rd gear. It actually says with 4.11's, shifting at 6500, and running a 26" tall tire, 3rd gear should last you up to 122. Switching to a 28" tall will take 3rd gear to 132 MPH.

Like I said, this is using a gear calculator.

yea, I know it wont get me to 122 mph in 3rd with a 26" tire.. Now would it benefit me any to go with the taller tire? In the 1/4 you dont want to be into overdrive correct?

ok so do I want the 275/60 or 275/50/15's? And will the 275/60's fit with no modifications? I dont want them to hit on a hard launch..
