I would think 315 may be a little to wide for a 17x9 rim. The widest I would go with on a 17x9 rim is a 295.

i would never put a 315 on less than a 10.5"... 285 is absolute max for a 9"...

When I got my Ws6 wheels, they had 315 nittos on them. I didn't have any rubbing issues, but I sold them and got some 275s ASAP. I didn't think it looked good, nor had any performance advantage. Not to mention unsafe.

when i ordered my 315's from tire rack they held the order until they called me and verified the rim was bigger than 10" it was going on. the guy said some crazy people try to stick these on 9" rims... also if you check nittos sight i believe they are rated for a 10.5-11.5" something like that.

They will "work".. but they make the rear of the car very loose.

they do work, they do not make the car loose at all. I have had NO trouble, but I do not drive my car like a autoXer. the only time I'm hard on my car is in the 1/4 mile, but I don't drive like a 90 year old grandpa. I have no issues with the car being loose. I have been everywhere with this setup, no complaints.

Just say "no" to a 315 and 9inch rim combo...

IMO a 315 looks like absolute *** on a 17x11 wheel b/c the wheel is almost WIDER than the tire is. In the cases that I have seen the tire is just as wide as wheel and the lip of the wheel was pretty much even with the outside of the tire. I have seen SEVERAL people run 315's on 17x9 wheels with NO problems what to ever.

I would put a 315 on a 9inch rim with out questioning it. JMHO
