Default Stiff Sidewall or wrinkle wall?

I'm going to be making the move to slicks for next year along with skinnies and I was wondering whether or not to go with a stiff sidewall or wrinkle wall.

They have both versions in 26x10x15 ET drags. I am going with only a 26 inch tall tire because I am only running 3.89s in my automatic.

The car should be running around 11.80 or 11.90 at about 113-114.

stiff sidewall for heavy cars is a good idea.

that was easy... lol

I have 3:89's in the 9" along with some ET Streets, 26x11.5x15... I need more seat time for some tweaking as its a new set up and added some weight with the cage.

Last year I cut a 1.45 60' on a 255/50/16 MT DR.// So far on the three runs I have done so far this year have been a 1.65 / 1.60 / 1.55... Im going back this friday to play around at the track.

What converter you have?

Just bought a SS3600 from a friend who wrecked his car and hadn't installed it yet. I wanted a 4000 stall but he gave me a deal...485 new in box. Needless to say I bought it 30 minutes later. I'm going to go with it for now, see how it performs and then probably after next season re stall it to a 4000. The reason I am going with full slicks is because I have some pretty big plans and they could be done by next season, so better safe than sorry. I want to buy them now so I don't have to put up with back orders once the season is getting close.

Well, keep in mind that with slicks, it might limit you to what class you can run in. I dont know if you race for fun or race at events every now and then like I do. But, most events will not allow slicks (or limit to what class you can run in), unless in a class that allows slicks and most of those cars are hell on wheels.

How fast you plan on going and what are teh HP levels you are looking at? Unless you are doing some serious trans braking or got a shitload of power coming on down the track a slick might be overkill.

Some have said that the reason my 60' has been slower is from going from my DR to an ET street... It mightbe true but I am still playing around with the new set up. If that is the case I will go back to a drag radial. Still too early to tell.

My setup will be similar to yours, H/C and a 100 shot. Probably AFR225s and an MS3. I'm just really on the wall with my decision. I race almost every weekend and my drag radials didn't even last me a full season this year so I was thinking that the slicks would last.

ET Streets are bias ply correct? So I could still run the ET fronts which is what I really want to go for because of weight savings, right?

I think you will be over kill on slicks... I have not tried those yet so I could be wrong, I was having really good luck on the 255's but it looked like **** on the stock 16" TA wheel.

A buddy just bought the 255/50/16 hoosier drag radials and will be testing those out this friday along side me. He would go wider but he has a 8" wheel and I have a 10" wheel so I can use a fatter tire. He has a 402 stroker on a 5000 stall.. So, that might be a tire to look into as well..

If he keeps breaking those loose he wants to try out my 11.5 ET Streets to see if it helps. I can usually keep the same set of tires for ~2 seasons. I live up in Minnesota so we cant race all year long like the sothern states do. Tires are consumables, so maybe not try and do a john force burnout. lol

Here is a pic with my new drag set up I finally got this year.

Well I won't be getting Hoosiers because I know somebody who is hooked in with M/T and can get me tires for buy one get one free. I guess I am going to be a copy cat and run your exact same set up...I really wasn't aware how much these D.O.T. approved tires can handle.

Are those Bogarts? They look really great, I think I am going to go with welds though because I can't justify 700 dollars more when I could grind the calipers a bit.

Yea, they are Bogart RT's... I bought the fronts last year and finally bought the rears this year. So, I didnt all get them at once due to teh $$, but the look good though.

You will be fine with either the 26x11.5x15's ET Streets or 275/50/15's (I think thats the equivalant size) drag radial.. Im going to try the ET Street until it gets bald then buy the DR next and see how the car likes that. only way to find out is get it mounted and hit the track. You got a hell of a deal so maybe get a set of both.

One more question (I really appreciate this, I'm only 18 so I don't really know all that much)...Are those fronts 3.5" wide or 4" wide? Just wondering because I'm not sure if the 4.5 ET fronts will fit on a 3.5" wheel.

No problem..

Those are 15 x 3.5's rims and the tire size are 26.00 x 4.50-15.
