I purchased one as soon as i saw the ad, and when i got it in i was really impressed with the craftsmanship..I just need to by a install kit, and im in business. It clipped right in, no trimming necessary, and it really does look stock. i had to dremel the tiniest bit off the hvac controls, but you dont notice it with either bezel, stock or double din, but i expected that anyway so its all good.
Great Product Kee, ill be calling soon for the install kit.

You can make your own brackets out of spare sheet metal and it will be more secure than most aftermarket kits. That's what I did.

considering some kits that arent custom made are still more expensive than that, id say its not a bad price...

now if only i had a double din....

Hi 2001Firebird, hang tight! I am getting done with 4 more. I am trying to get ahead with these again.

All current orders are finished and enroute so if you ordered one from me and haven't received a tracking number PM me and I have it.

Camaro guys I haven't forgotten about you, I am currently looking at different kits I can use to make the Camaro one with. I do have to use a piece out of a double DIN kit to make these right and I am looking for just the right one for the Camaro bezel before I start cutting the one I have up. I wasted only 1 bezel when I did the Firebird version so I'm trying to not repeat that again.

I ordered a complete metra double din mounting kit and trim piece. I used the mounting pieces to actually mount my radio. I modded the trim piece to fit into the Camaro bezel. It was then bondoed over and painted.

The parts identified in the pictures are the posts from the actual bezel and the screw holes for the mounting kit. If you align the mounting kit properly, you can make it so the posts slide right through the screw holes. It holds the radio very securely. The second picture shows the best example of this. The other 2 shots show the unit pulled back a bit.

Here is the finished stuff. I had the vents both painted to match the center piece. Sorry for the finger prints and smudges. The main piece has a silver pinstripe around the back for added detail

Hmmm that JVC double din is sweet for a good price. I like the SD slots...I use them in my beater with a cheap *** wal mart radio- it is very convenient.

Hi Phantom!! That looks great. Which metra kit model did you use? Also did you use the trim ring from the Pioneer unit or from the Metra kit? I use a Metra kit as well when making the Firebird ones that matches the contours. I use just the trim part and mold it into the bezel so everything is uniform. The depth on the Camaro bezel is a little different so I am looking for a kit that has the same depth or close to it. The one I use for the Firebird bezel won't work because it has an angle to it.

Hey Kee. This is the kit I used,

http://cgi.ebay.com/METRA-95-3302-CH...3286.m20.l1116

You have to trim all the "fat" off the sides and back.
