It's possible that a deep tweeter will work, but it depends on the outside diameter. I would say most likely it will not work, though.

I use Seas Neo tweeters in my custom setup. They're amazing. They fit ok in the tweeter pods, though they look like *** the way I have them :/ I had cut a big hole for my old tweeters, and switched over to the smaller Seas ones, so I was like F it and used epoxy putty to hold them in. It looks SO DAMN BAD lol

Just a general update.

Yes, if my tweeters can fit (hopefully flush-mounted,) in these pods, I will buy ASAP... I have funds set aside for this. Give me the word, (and a few pics,) and I'm on-board.

Tweeter mounting depth = 1.78"
Tweeter overall diameter = 1.725"

I can take a picture of them mounted in my doors, if that will help--but I'd rather not remove them. They fit in the stock tweeterpod no problem...

Can you measure the internal cavity/mounting depth of the pod? I guess it won't be the end of the world if I have to mount it non-flush, but that sure would be nice. A lot of it depends on how you have designed them.

When you take final pictures, can you take basic measurements? like maximum tweeter mounting depth, etc?

All I can think about is how much better my setup will sound when I get these. I can't stand that my legs, and my passenger's always block the tweeters!

I just hope y'all can make them look relatively-stock.

I'll probably load my old tweeters in the stock panels--just because. I will have to tinker with the setup though, because it could really, really ruin the soundstage. For some reason I am really bothered by having the stock door pods, and not having anything in the tweeter location

UPDATES Here we go...

"Sorry for the late reply, I've had my phone off for the last three days cause everytime I pick it up I get ordered in to work.

Once again cell phone pics, but they seem to be pretty good. I read the thread and got some pics with a tape measure so people can see the size. It's too dark for installed pics, I can get some tomorrow. Depth is right about 1 1/3 and the mounting pad for the tweeter is about 2 1/4. It mounts with a single attachment point. From what I've seen on crutchfield this should accommodate most tweeters out there.
The mounting pad hole can be cut for anysize tweeter. I can also leave it uncut if the buyers wants to do it themselves.
I can paint them black, do a rough textured finish or send them out in primer.
I'm just starting to get a few pair going and will finish them up while I'm waiting for things to dry with the targa mold.
I can start taking orders on the 20th.

The targa mold is getting a bit more work on the flanges done. I'm sealing it on wed and will layup the first piece this weekend. I'll bond the latches on next wednesday/ do a test fitment and go for a test drive at the end of the week after the adhesive has had a few days to dry.
Hope this is all good news, gotta get up in 4hrs.

Jason"
