so subs pulling power is eliminated. your battery voltage in the normal range?? id start there...battery/alternator and anything after that could be wiring issues maybe a power wire to something grounding out somewhere.

Is it continuous or just temporarily on cold starts? They'll do that when the air pump cycles.

Having the same issue here... it's driving me nuts!

Sometimes it's a light pulsing and sometimes a bit more.

At one point a mechanic said it "might be a pulley or something". I don't like diagnostics from paid mechanics that involve the words, "might be", "or something", so I stopped talking to that guy.

I recently have had this issue with a reman'd alternator. Crappy voltage regulators in reman'd alternators are known to have issues holding steady voltage, especially after crank pulley swaps (to underdrive pulleys). I've been used to replacing alternators on other cars and I've always just gotten lifetime warranty ones from autoparts stores (autozone, oreillys, etc) but the same problem still exists after about 6 months to a year. My advice, find a local alternator/starter/generator rebuilder and have them rebuild the unit and test the voltage regulator. With my last alternator, the alternator tested fine every single time at auto parts stores using their equipment, took it to a rebuilder and stated exactly what the problem was with it, he hooked it up and after about 30 seconds of running it began fluctuating the voltage. Had them replace bearings and voltage regulator cost me ~$75. Been running absolutely great since then. For what it's worth, i replaced 2 batteries on my trans am thinking that it was a battery issue, and that for some reason they were just dying too fast.

You know i have the same problem with my trans am. i will be driving with my lights on, and sometimes they will flicker. Drives me fvcking nuts

Info on my car. I do not have my A.I.R. pump, got that tuned out. STOCK radio, speakers, amp. I have a Optima RED top battery and a ASP UD pulley and STOCK alt. That is it. My battery charges just fine. I would say it charges maybe 15-16 V...

Got any ideas?

I'd say it might be the stock (105Amp ?) alternator. That's my next task...to replace my stocker with a 160Amper.

Seems normal to me. I've driven over 20K miles and 3+ years with this. Had the dealer look at it and they say that is actually normal for some cars. Still is annoying. Mine is an '02.
