I found a '02 Camaro SS on Ebay that has an inop odometer. The key is on but the screen is dark. Anybody know what causes this? I'm thinking its in the cluster itself, not the speed sensor.
Something doesn't smell right with this car. I bought a history report and it said this car has been bouncing around auto auctions since June this year. It showed odometer readings at each auction starting at 217,828 miles and going up from there! Now this dealer says the odometer is inop. The bidding is already getting stupid on this car. It has no reserve with 3 1/2 days of bidding left and its already up over $7500!!! C'mon people, at least wait till the last minute before you go jacking up the bid price on a car WITH NO RESERVE!

if your buying the car for a d d, i would stay away from it. sounds awful fishy to me, could be other problems there too. thats a big price tag for a car with that many miles.

I contacted the seller about the vehicle history and here's his reply:
Dear bb5401000,
No, I don't have a scan tool, and for the money we're selling this car for I don't really think its pertinent. The car is TMU, and will forever stay that way regardless of any past or present history. It likely had a faulty odometer, because I wouldn't believe it had 100k, let alone over 200k.

I don't know what TMU stands for, but they sure don't seem interested in finding out the true history of this car. If anybody knows someone who is bidding on this car, warn them. Sounds like avid auto sports is trying to pull a fast one.
