Settled on this monitor. It has a harness and is set up for CarPC use.

They also sell a nice cheap OBDII interfacing device.

Yeah, that's what I said. Lol.

Hey guys, time for me to call for some help. I've never routed power wire in a car before so I'm not to sure of this.

I'm getting some 8 gauge to run the PC, screen, and amp. I'll have a 60 AMP fuse right after it comes off the battery and it will go into the cabin. I need to get it in the dash, under the pass seat and to my truck. How can I go about splitting it like that? Like, what are my options?

**So everyone is aware, the monitor posted earlier was just purchased by me along with a car power supply. But do not buy their GPS, its overpriced.**

btw a month or 2 ago i bought a slot load cd drive for $7ish dollars new off amazon. Doesn't read DVDs (or didnt list it) but better the ones that do are around $80. It has a mac jack but you can get a cheap any ide to usb adapter on amazon too. I think im going to make a slit at very top of bezel at crease and mount it there but not sure yet (let me know if you have any ideas). I'll just use the frontend to eject the disc instead of a button.

EDIT: like here, stealthy. but my screen will be 1.4" bigger.

crappy thing, my 8" just crapped out on me, so now i have been trying to put in my 10" and that thing is a monster, i cant figure out a good way to mount it in there, so right now i will be hooking my ipod directly to my amps to listen to anything. Im thinking about just selling this whole set up and getting a double din, its a PITA

^ did you check this thread?

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/gene...-firebird.html

someone had a 10" in it, or at least a concept photoshop. just take it by an audio shop and have them mount it. cant be more than $200, and thats way cheaper than double din.

with the pc your are putting togather, its kinda hard to troubleshoot because something like ram could be loose, video card not set up properly.

When you connect to a trusted computer that shows output on its regular monitor....are you connecting this monitor as the 2nd monitor because sometimes you need to change settings to display something on the 2nd monitor.

If you are connecting it as a primary moniter to a trusted computer and still shows same error, disconnect the cables from the lcd and connect them again. What kind of connectors does the lcd use to connect to pc?
Im assuming its regular db-25.

I tried running it to my main PC and my car PC. I have 3 other monitors and all of them work on both computers. The Touchscreen uses a 9 pin to VGA cord to connect to the PC.

I don't think the screen is bad, otherwise it wouldn't make connection. There's a plug on it, I'm thinking of cutting it open and splicing the wires.

I was thinking that with the monitor you picked up and with the bracket it would probably be easy to mount the brackets for the stock radio to it, i think they just unscrew, if i cant get my 10" screen to work i was thinking about doing that. Maybe use some abs black plastic to fill in the gaps, would look pretty stock.
