What software are you going to use for the OBDII?? I havent really found one I am a fan of
I got Centerfuse or whatever from a friend. It's REALLY touch friendly. Tested everything out and its all flawless.

It has OBDII, weather, wifi, net, music, video, and like everything.

GPS, I have all North American Maps.

I'm installing Steam because I have a few older games on there.

I'll be posting a bunch of pics tomorrow, because I should be finishing it up if I can manage to get my power supply working. Otherwise I have to RMA it.

alot of people on mp3car use a cheap auto adapter and have had no problems. its much better than an inverter and much cheaper, and less problematic as opius, etc. so i will use one of these with a relay to cut power when car is off. havent really found a relay yet though.

^ i think radio shack has them? it would basically be in the power line and not let the power pass through unless it got a signal, which would be like the turn on wire to an amp.

i havent found any threads on mp3 that specifically say a good place to get them.

250 watt is overkill. I bought the M3, 125w and it should be just fine to cover me.

And yes, its a PicoPSU. It's even smaller than I expected.

i was actually looking at the M2 for my build but i might go M3. let us now how the power features work once you get it hooked up. my MAIN concern is that too much power will be getting pulled with the CarPC and a audio system using the power at the same time.

btw as a good solution for control of pc when frontend is not open:

you can hook up a normal touch pad as a usb/ps2 device. also, apparently you can paint most of them too and they will still work.

would be in a 100x better position in a m6 though.

Yes. I had planned on putting one there, but then I decided to pick a touchscreen.

^ yeah i'm not doing it either, yet at least. it would be convenient for changing settings in windows though, especially changing the auto equalizer in winamp for new songs i put on it.

also,i downloaded tinyxp and will install next week (finals this week ). The whole operating system only 700 megs . I'll let you guys know how it runs.

I ran that at school to get around all the stuff they block, it runs good, but definitely run it on USB, running a OS on a CD or DVD is a bad idea. Don't ask how I know, lol.

^ i was going to install on the laptop's hard drive and wipe out everything on it. has a few viruses and I want a little bit more space since it has a 40 gig hard drive and i dont plan on an external drive. Since apparently a drive eventually stops working, i think i'll play it safe on the hdd. Around here it shouldn't get too cold for it.

i bought all my carpc parts except power supply and monitor. i went overboard but i got damn good prices on it and i couldnt pass it up. plus if it turns out to be too powerful and kills my car i can make it a htpc.

Intel BOXDG45FC
INTEL C2D E8500
G. Skill 2x2GB DDR2 RAM
OCZ 120GB Vertex SSD

thinking i might biuld my own case. and still researching on the right power supply for this build. Maybe a M2-ATX or M3 or M4, a Pico would be nice too. this thread has been really helpful so far!!
