Question I have a slight "buzz" sound/feedback from my car stereo, increases as i go faster...

Its a slight buzz/feedback from my car stereo..i noticed after my sub/amp got installed...you can hear the buzz increase as i step on the throttle...the sound goes away when i turn off my head unit...solutions?

Also, it doesnt seem to be coming out of the speakers but from the driver dash area.

Well its not actually a buzz...its a high pitch whine..not too loud...but gets higher as i accelerate and goes away when i turn off head unit.

Sounds like alternator whine. I've known a few guys who have had this problem.

Also, its a good idea to ground the deck to the same spot as the AMP. I use a relay to turn the deck on too... Had good luck with that setup over the years has cleared up a lot of cars that ended up with whine

Running the power wire separate from the speaker wires is also a good idea to keep alternator whine from happening.

Get this thing called a ground isolator. It cost me about 6 bucks and it connected between my headunit RCAs and amp RCAs. Completely got rid of that whine.

my friend said that only gets rid of the engine noise coming out of the speakers..i dont think its coming out of the speakers, seems to just come out of the dash console area....idk. i'll check it out some more.

Did you recently run a power wire next to an RCA wires? Many times this will cause a whine. Run the wires down different sides of the car

Many good suggestions here. From my experience, most of the wires today are shielded, the interferance is still very mimimal but I still try to run the power wires and speaker wires on opposite sides.

95% of the time, poor ground on the amp side cause the whinning noise. If the amp is in the back, I used the seat belt bolt. If you done any other bolt, etc. Try scrapping off the old car metal to get a good ground. Damn factory paint on bolts, washers, etc, always afffects having a good conductor.

Quick Reply: I have a slight "buzz" sound/feedback from my car stereo, increases as i go faster...
