Default How to upgrade your late fbodys windows!

Thought this was pretty useful info i found on another forum.
thought i would share it, and sorry if this has already been posted.

"I finally got the pinout for this mod (thanx John). This mod will solve the issue of the constant failing window motors in late model F-Body's. The reason they fail is because the motors are under-powered from the factory; around 10v on the drivers side and 8v on the passenger side. This will make sure both sides get a full 12v+ at all times. If your window motors are already dying, this might give them new life, but they'll probably eventually fail. If you replace them w/ this mod, they should last forever (in theory).

Relay Number 1:
30 – To Window Motor Brown Wire
85 – Chassis Ground
86 – To Window Switch Brown Wire
87 – Battery +12 Volts
87a – Chassis Ground

Relay Number 2:
30 – To Window Motor Blue Wire
85 – Chassis Ground
86 – To Window Switch Blue Wire
87 – Battery +12 Volts
87a – Chassis Ground

Required Supplies:

Four 5 pin Automotive Relays http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...=24-76058574-2

Two 35ft spools of 10 AWG Wire http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062650 / http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062649

Two ATC Fuse Holders http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...A|GRP2020A____

Two 30A ATC Fuses

Wire Ring Terminals, Disconnect Ends, Wire Nuts, Heat Shrink Tubing

Ok, so basically connect the proper wire to the pin on each Relay. Each door gets 2 relays, and both driver & passenger sides are wired the exact same. You WILL retain the auto down feature on the driver’s side. I recommend soldering and heat-shrinking everything, but I suppose you could use crimp connects. It’s really personal preference. And you’ll want to place the fuse in the engine bay as close to the battery as you can. When you’re done tidy up your wires and tuck everything under the kick panel on either side."

I might need to check into this. my passenger side window will move about 2 inches either way, up or down, and then stop....have to wait for a few minutes to try to get it to move some more......

I didnt say i couldnt find it on a search .I just said its the first time ive seen this write up as im not ever in this section as my ride is a super low mile garage queen. Im sure as newer member join , or someone like me ,its nice for us to pross threw these diffrent forums and see stuff like this (wheather new or old topics ).And for those of you that live in this section and have seen this before ,,,,remember,,,,, this site is for old and new members alike .
When i see something in the FI forum (where i live) ,,,,and have seen something a 100 or so times,,,LOL i just skroll pass it and look for something i haven't seen, verses logging on and giving it a pass or fail LOL or leaving a (Old News) reply LOL Just something to think about guys. Dont make others feel stupid for posting something old. ITS ALL GOOD INFO WHEATHER OLD OR NEW Thats what this site is all about INFO!

Now that being said,it looks like the WS6 store sales the autotrix window kit for the drivers for like $129 and passanger side for $30 and even has a vid of the before and after window fix on the passanger kit to show how fast the windows move after the kit (Im sold!) LOL Im ordering mine tomorrow Thanks- Adam D
