would it be possible with our dash's? with the dashes changing colors whenever you want to shift?

while catching up on the horse power tv that I missed.....they and a replacement gauge cluster for our cars that had a similar set up like this but they had multiple lights on the face of the tach area that would indicate the good, better, best and too much (best way I could describe it.) anyway it was cool and I want one.

Sorry It was just a gauge cluster pod and you could put any gauges you want into it still like the concept though.....it was done by AdFab Design if you want to check it out.

okay, so i have been looking at led's, and I think i have figured two ways of doing this, kind-of. there is a LED in the round part of the needle, the pivot, and it is connected to a clear needle.
for the LED, it is a dual color LED that gradually changes from blue to red, but i have no clue how it changes or how to control that change. maybe a potentiometer connected to each lead, with the needle the controller for the potentiometer.
That is how i THINK it works. any suggestions, or other ways it might work?
