Finishing up the entire rear area from the back seat foot wells to the back panel with the hatch locking mechanism. I will probably apply another new roll to double-up the obvious outside noise resonators and lay-out some sound deadening matting if I can find some locally.

I did my DD trunk one day. Took 2 1/2 rolls. It does not defy gravity without being heated obviously because the part on the trunk lid came back off after a few weeks.

Heat is important but I've recently discovered that the problem of it coming off when mounted sideways or upside down is almost always because the material was put on top of another piece. In other words, it will strongly stick to any material, except itself. It will actually stick to itself fine horizontally, but like you said gravity will slowly pull it down in any other position.

I used the frost king stuff myself, only used 1 roll in the trunk to touch up some spots, already I'm impressed.

My only concern was about moisture build up, I didn't know how this would react to it (such as allowing moisture to build up and rust away at panels from the inside out)....any insight to this?

Either way, I love being able to get great results for 1/4 the price of the official "automotive insulation" stuff.

With a single layer only (recommended) on the vertical and overhead surfaces, and double layer (recommended) on all horizontal surfaces, it is noticeable quieter. In the past with my last car that had the same set-up, I had several passengers comment on how quiet the inside of my car was (2003 3.5 Altima). The most notable scenario to me was during interstate driving and a vehicle riding beside or passing by me. I would expect some audible noise, but would get little if any unless it was a big rig or loud *** mother ******* Harley.

ive used frost king on the whole car recently, and they were out - so I bought a roll of peal and seal to finish the trunk.. stuff does smell like asphalt applying it... BUT WOW its super stick ! And i dont see this coming off vertical surfaces either. I applied the frost king with 3m 77 and some of it is still kind of coming off (from each other as the other poster noted)

Ill post my results when I start driving the car again next week (im doing 4.10 gears on my 8.8 right now)

Peel and Seal might do a better job of sticking to itself than Quick Roof. But yeah, this stuff is mega sticky. Heat it up, stick it on a piece of metal, and once it cools and sets it is a ball buster to remove.

Anybody have a comment on moisture build up under the mats? Or the mats not allowing moisture to drain properly?

Good thing most areas where this stuff is applied is not metal. Either way though I haven't anything about trapped moisture problems. I know that Chip Foose strips the interior and covers everything with dynamat. He is a guru, so I can't imagine he would do that if there were any ill effects, including moisture.

it wasnt enough for my doors - it lasted 6 months before it fell off - i used 3m 77 this time around ive heard offa corvette forum that it lasts that way
