Well, everything is hooked up. The amp and radio comes on but i'm getting no sound. I have a old and cheap Kenwood KDC-135 with one set of preamps. I read through the manual a few times and i still can't get any sound.
I'll post pictures later tonight of the crossover locations.

I'm going to drive to the guys house that sold me the amp so he can check my setup (he used to be an installer at a local car audio shop). I tried hooking up my iphone with an aux to RCA cable and still nothing.
He said he bench tested the amp before selling it and it was working fine. Maybe there's something up with my setup but there's not much you can mess up without it being obvious.

I tried two more ground spots just to make sure it wasn't that. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with my install. I tried the sub channel and it actually works so something is screwed up with the front/rear channels.
I took the cover off the amp and there's no noticeable burnt traces, caps, etc. No burnt smell.
Bringing it back to the guy i bought it from this afternoon.

Finished putting my car together. Tested volts at the amp and it's getting 14.x volts. The remote wire is getting 12.x. Nothing wrong with my installation.
About to leave to let the guy check out my install and he's gonna take the amp and get his friend that repairs them to look at it.
Absolutely no audio in my car for the next few days. Hope i don't fall asleep driving to work!

I like where you mounted it on the drivers side. I put mine further back because i wasn't sure it would fit in that spot.
They came with a peel and stick on the back and that's what i used for now because the screws they included to mount it where way too long.
I'm gonna get some shorter screws and move it later.

A friend is bringing me a little oldschool 2ch kicker after work tonight.
It's an IX252 that claims 25w x 2 but supposedly benches over 70w x 2 RMS @ 4ohms!
This should push the Focals nicely till I get the Eclipse back or find something else.
I just have to get my 4ga power/ground into it's 10ga terminals without cutting my wires.

Well, hooked up the amp earlier and it was very anti-climactic. I don't know if it's because the amp is not really putting out enough, because of the cheap Kenwood HU, or because i don't have any sound deadening but the Focals really don't sound that good. The midbass sounds ok but they distort quite easily and it's not very loud. Definitely does not sound like $300 speakers.

I really doubt that Kicker amp is putting out all that much. I'm sure it's not a terrible amp and I do love old school amps, but I think a better (bigger) amp would be better. I think the Eclipse would do better if you get it working. Do make sure you've got your speakers highpassed at 70-80Hz (or so).
And you need to seal off the open sections of the inner door skin. It will improve your midbass as much as running 4 times the power will while also lowering excursion and thus distortion.
