Default I'd say these speakers were used up!

I finally finished replacing the speakers in my car with the CDT package from Kee Audio. I knew the original speakers were bad, but I never imagined they were this bad!

Door speakers:

Getting the new speakers wired up to the original factory harness that I cut off of the factory speakers was the hardest part...which was more time consuming than difficult. However, I did manage to break the tabs off of the slot that holds the retention spring on the passenger side window switch bezel. Looks like I will be needing a new one.

Stingrayj, that's pretty bad! You didn't notice them popping a lot?

Monsoon FAQ

Ian @ Kee Audio has perfectly selected packages and is a great guy to deal with.

I wouldn't call it "popping" so much as just overall really bad! Aside from the buzzing, popping, etc. I don't think that there was any sound coming out of them. The new CDT's sound really nice, but I do want to add more bass. It's decent but not enough to really feel the bass, especially on the highway with the t-tops off.

I've only had the car about 2 months now so it's not something that I have been living with for a long time.

Anybody who needs to replace their speakers should definitely give Ian a call. I emailed him a number of times discussing a few options. Great guy to work with!

That's what most of the Camaro speakers I see look like. The foam surrounds deteriorate to nothing leaving the cone floating in the middle. If it weren't for the wires running to it and the large tweeter brace, the cone can actually come right out of there.
I have even seen some guys selling used Camaro speakers on eBay before that were similar to that...not quite that bad but you could see daylight though the surrounds in a few places. I have few sets that look just like yours sitting in my garage!
