Default Window motor rivets.. wtf!!!?

Ok guys I have changed my driver side window motor, had no issues. but the passenger side, months later, is confusing me. I drilled out the access holes only to find the heads of the rivets face the outside of the door. it's impossible for me to drill these out. the drill bit keeps sliding off. what do I do? I'm pretty sure I'm looking at the right rivets, I've checked time and time again.

take a pencil grinder bit and grind them flush. they can be then punched or drilled out. I also have used a dremel to grind the rivets off on the front side of the door.

Anyways i'll try the above suggested methods if I can find a friend with some tools to help me out!

I don't see any rivet in that picture. Are you sure you are drilling into the correct spot on the door?

It looks like the right spot. But that doesn't look like the backside of a rivet, almost looks like a spot weld.

Yeah not sure what Im looking at exactly, does not look like a rivet though as previously stated.

Could you center punch it then try a new drill bit?

My friend and I used a dremel tool to grind them off. The pic was kinda deceiving. Anyways I found out it was a napa window motor... they must have changed the whole regulator assembly or something because the access holes weren't drilled out before I got to them...?

That would explain the backwards rivets.
