Looking to do a RFID setup Here's a bad *** setup I found on Youtube. I don't want a Push button and it's the only one I found that doesn't use one. I love the way the guy has the chip inserted in his hand, lol...

How do the Vette guys get around it or do they have a push button start?

To have the same level of control without the button, you'd probably need to replace it with a carputer and speech recognition.

Verdad Gallardo I thought about that... If, for example, I was hanging out at a car show or meet, with friends, I think a type of dead switch would suffice. When you know you'll be hanging around your car, just tap the dead switch and it will kill the start option.

I'll need to see how my brothers 06 IS250 does it, it's got the chip so when he touches the door handle with the keys on him it unlocks and has the push button start without using a key as long as the keys are in the car, but I know he can turn on just the radio without turning on the car because he did it the other day before he left on his trip while we where trying to get his bass tube working.
Well if he has a push button, then that explains it.... he didn't push the button to start the car. As for the Vettes, I was under the impression that they did the same thing, as the car in the video, start with no assistance of a push button, to start the engine. I thought when you walked up to a Vette, it unlocked the doors and started the car, all by the proximity of the RFID chip.

Most push button start cars have to have the brake pressed to crank. So if you press the button without pushing the brake then it just turn the iginition on. 1 push does accessory, 2nd push ignition, and 3rd push turns it off again. If you have the brake pressed when you push it the first time then it goes straight to ignition and cranks the motor.
