Odd Key Fob Lock Issue

If I hit the lock button on my keyfob, the car locks as it should. If I hit it a second time (OCD) or cant tell if it locked the first time, my car alarm goes off. Im sure the neighbors love it. 1998 Z28

Please provide more information. Is this a stock security system? Are there any modifications?

I thought I posted it the day before...oops. the keys and security system are all original. The radio was replaced but that was 10 years ago.

OK. What do you mean by your alarm is "going off". There is a programmable BCM option to have the car honk when you lock a second time, but that isn't the alarm going off. Is that what is happening? (It's just a double honk and a light flash.)

Have you tried unhooking your shock sensor in the right rear wheel well? (behind the trunk panel)

I wonder if the horn is going off and then setting off your alarm?

No I haven't tried that. I also have a spare remote somewhere I should try too. See if that one does it. I just haven't been able to track it down. Are you thinking that it's too sensitive or may be malfunctioning?
