Default Need some help from smart people.

Ok, install it a Momo wheel. From what I read, I was to get a 2.2 ohm resister and gap the air bag wires to get the air bag light out. Well, I did all that and it didn’t work!! Light still on🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯. Are these the correct resisters? Is it ok to solder it in where I did, and WTF happened? Why didn’t it work. Anything ells this can try? And does the dash light effect anything ells beside the air bags? Abs? ? Thanx.

Soldered the resistor in.

Plugged the connector in the harness.

These are the resistors that I bought. Are they the correct ones. Cause the light did not go off.

To be honest, I tried several resistors and the air bag light is still on. So I think this fix is BS.

The ole Google says 2-4 ohm is the typical resistance may need to go higher?

Just noticed that the resistors in the pic say "2.2K" not 2.2 ohms. I read where that is a common reason the fix doesn't work...

is there a difference?? These were my second set that I bought. The first ones were the wrong as well. Would you be able to send me a link of the EXACT resister that I need? Electronics is definitely not a strong skill that I possess. Thanx.

Found a thread stating that a 2.4 ohm resistor worked.

Yeah I'm thinking you do as well and soldering two together will not solve it.

kiloohms = ohms ÷ 1,000

2.4 Ω = 0.0024 kΩ

Missed the K ohm on the label. Correct you aren't giving the circuit enough resistance so it still sees the airbag as unplugged or deployed. Find a 2.4 Ohm and that should do the trick

You could probably get some off Amazon but you'd be buying in bulk

Started the defeat process yesterday and they worked fine. The steering wheel and passenger dash bags use two each since they have two connectors to the bags. In the case of my project, the donor car (2014 Camaro L99) all the bags were deployed except for the side seat and curtain bags and my Malibu had no room for bags except for the steering wheel. If I decide down the road that I want the steering wheel bag, I can add it later.

Otherwise, there will be no bags in the 70 Malibu and I will have to defeat the seat bags at the plugs under the seats. From what I've read, the seats and curtains are known to blow when drifting; not that I plan to put the car on any track. The conversion has resulted in a near stock 2014 Camaro SS merged into a 70.

Here's a peek at the grill and under the hood:
