Default Best place to mount amp???

I have had my subwoofers in my car for a while now, but am looking for a good place to mount my amp, right now I have it velcroed in the little whole where the stealth boxes go, but it sticks out and looks like crap. Anybody know any good ways to mount the amp where it will look clean and not be in the way of the T-Tops when I have them in the back?

heres my setup...stock headunit, just run the rca converter box from the rear speakers to the amp...and over to the sub. I had a piece of that diamond plate aluminum bent to fit.

That does look awsome, but I made my box to fit perfect in the deck area where you have your amp so that I could still put my t-tops in the back, thanks though

This may be a dumb question, but what's wrong with the stock location for an amp, behind the spare tire? I have heard of them not fitting right. Is that it?

I would get an amp rack from subthump. I have a fiberglass one that mounts to the back of my hatch area just like those and I love it. you can check out my cardomain page to see mine.

If your amp is small enough, it can be mounted to the mounting plate for the factory amp in the spare tire well. I've had mine in there for over six months and had 0 problems with heat and such. And it does get beat on quite a bit. I had a custom box built for a 10" in the same spot as 1999Z28 has his. About the most you can get in there is a 10 or smaller. I have seen 12's in there, but there's not much air space for the sub to work in. If you need me to, I'll try to find the web site that makes a box for the right side also. A little cutting and lose the spare tire, but it looks tight.

has anybody tried mounting it on the fold down thing for the hatch on the back side so it still folds down?

The T-top well is prety flimsy as is. I guess you could reinforce it with glass or make a new one out of the same stuff, but as far as hinges go, thre two little posts that pop into the plastic side panels. Still tricky IMHO. Hey, if you got the money, there some very fine installers out there that can make your dreams come true.

I put mine on the back wall under the Latch. Easy to hide wires that way (under the carpet), good cooling, and no trouble with the T-Tops
