Default Radar Detector Poll

After all the radar detector informstion i have heard, it seems that when considering price the top 3 are all equal in performance. I want to know who is using what and why they think itis better than the rest.

I have the x50, so far so good, its saved me a couple times so far. I bought it mostly because I didnt want to spend the extra hundred bucks for the arrows on the v1.

I have the V1. I think they are all great performers, but once you have the directional arrows, it is very difficult to live without. Plus the bogey counter helps as well. Short story: radar box on side of the street with a cop about 1/4 mile down. V1 told me there were two signals and once I got passed the box, the arrows told me there was one more ahead.

I can give hundreds of examples of where the V1 was more valuable than the competitiion. I don't like driving without it at all. I'm a V1 junky

Another vote for the V1. I've honestly never used any other detector, but like thaar said, once you use the arrows, it would be hard to live without them.

I you have a V1 and have not updated for POP, do it now! I got pulled twice and it never went off. Got out of one, not the other.

V1 all the way!

clemsondave, how much was the upgrade for you? Did you upgrade from v1.8? I think that's the version I have. How well do you think the POP feature works?

You really cant beat a company that is going to stand behind their product and allow you to upgrade it with new technologies.

They also make the bests radars....go figure

The only problem with their upgrade, is I'll end up paying more for the upgrade than I did for the detector. I got a v1.7 for $150.

It looks like at ebay the Valentine v1 is still on average $100 more than both the Escort and Bel. So is the V1 worth the extra $100 over the other two.

I bought it used on ls1.com. Owner of the board was selling it. Not sure why it was so cheap, but it works perfectly. I thought maybe it was a rip off, but for the price, it was worth the risk.

the only thing you really should have learned from the other radar detector threads by now is not to ask a question like that! everything from here is personal opinion...just buy a damn detector!!

People are paying it all the time. Why dont you ask the people that actually have the detector

I have been using a V1 since 1996. I had it serviced in 2000, and I am getting ready to trade up to a new V1 pretty soon. I get a $170 discount if I trade in my old V1. Pretty sweet!

I figured i WAS asking people who have the detector. I'm sure nobody will complain about the detector they own right now, and i also have some idea that a majority of people on this site have the V1. It appears that the V1 will always come out on top at this site.
