Painting a Capacitor?

Is it possible? I've got a Stinger 1 farad in my car. The silver and the logo from it matched the theme of the last car, but this car is all black and the two amps are black and I want the capacitor to match. It's got a clear plastic film on it, and I know to remove that, and I will of course mask the terminals off, but are there any other tricks or hints? Sanding? Prepping? etc? What paint would do best?

Why don't you just wrap it in vinyl? Go to a sign shop and find a color that matches, and just wrap it.

Cause vinyl will probably cost more and trying to seal up the seam and make it look good will probably be more trouble than it's worth.

just sand it down, paint it with a couple coats and wet sand it, clear it and its a done deal.

I doubt if vinyl would cost more. You could probably find what you need in their scrap bend, and they would probably give it to you. Didn't know you were trying to seal up seam.

Why not just sell it and buy a black one. If you spray paint it...I think it will look terriable.

I've got access to an actual paint booth so I won't just spray paint it. I agree that would look absolutely terrible. I'm not about to put something like that in the car. A friend of mine here locally is a car painter and offered to do it, but I was just curious if someone had done it and what their results were.
