Default Replace rear seats w/ sub box?

Anyone ever removed the rear seats and used that space for a sub box? I'm thinking of doing this in my 98 TA since the rear seats are pretty much a joke.

what are you looking to run. I have 2 alpine 12" mounted above the gas tank, its a good idea to get the rear window tinted if you mount speakers like that

I have a pair of older Fosgate HX2 DVC subs I have had for a while. They hit hard as hell and have always been good for me. I'm just not sure about filling my one and only storage space with speakers when I know the back seats will never be used. Also gives me a lot of space to work with compared to these pre-made boxes for the storage area in the back.

i'm thinking about doing it, too. i hate having people in my backseat. it makes my car feel slower, and my custom duals hit the phr with the extra weight which sucks bigtime, broke my exhaust hanger on the driver side. i figure im going to pull them out anyway and i don't like the way they loook w/out seats, so i will jus build something nice to go in there for my 2 12'' RF HE2's

I just always liked the ability to impress people in both areas. Besides, if you go to the drags you can always remove the boxes in a reasonable amount of time

Something like that, yes, but damn that is huge... I would be using 2 subs that need about 2 cu.ft. of space each. I've started working out some of the kinks, but am worried about someone stealing them. I may build it so the subs are firing down toward the floorboard and not sitting out for all to see.

I drive my car every day in town, I'd trade a tenth or two in the 1/4 for high quality tunes. Make it so you can pull it out for track runs if you're that concerned.

Im the same way. A little weight wont hurt you THAT bad when you consider how much you actually race on the street and how much youll listen to the subs. On the other hand, if your wanting to drag race you shouldnt have a radio at all.
