help with blown speaker
First off if your using the factory amp youll have to have a 2 ohm speaker to go back in. It might say 500 watts but take my word on it that its nowhere near it.
Also the Monsoon amplifier is 500W max total power to all speakers. I do not think it is possibly to even see 75W at any one speaker.
Yes, it is true that a 2 ohm speaker will draw twice as much current (hence twice the power) as a 4 ophm speaker at the same voltage (volume) level. That does not mean the 2 ohm will necessarily be louder than (or even as loud as) an efficient 4 ohm speaker.
Just be careful when comparing Sensitivity specs as there are different standards used by different manufacturers.

In my SS, I replaced the stock 4" speakers with a pair of SPS-100A's. I get much better midrange in the system now. A very inexpensive upgrade.
As for the rear seat (sail panel) speaker replacement, I'm planning on getting a pair of Audiobahn AMD60Q's to replace my stockers. Remember, for a T/A setup, you'll want to only use 1 pair of wires for each sail speaker. Whichever pair sounds better.
Some folks have dropped in 8" subs back there, but you'd have to do some cutting to make them fit.
