Default Midrange in the sail panels or the rear?

Ok here's the deal. I'm doing a small little setup in the Z. I have my Pioneer headunit that's running the stock speakers right now.

I already have a Kicker ZX420 amp and a Kicker Resolution 6.5 component waiting to go in.

I'm going to get 6.5'' speakers for the sails(that's the correct size right?) and 4'' speakers for the rear(again correct size right?). The components and sails will be run off of the kicker amp and the 4'' speakers in the rear will be run off of the head unit.

Should I put midrange speakers in the sails or the rear? I was thinking the rear, just to give some mid bass rear fill and just get 2-way speakers for the sails.

What do you guys think?

Also, what do you guys suggest for mounting the tweeters from my kicker components?

I'd for go the hatch speakers altogether.. You'll never hear them. In my car i put midbass speakers in the sail panels, and a 10" stealth sub in the rear. It's not bone shattering, but it sounds very nice and balanced.. Fronts got components.. Look at sig for details.

I'm not doing a sub, I've already decided that. I'm not buying another amp and I still need space for my ttops(they're off EVERY chance I get).

With an aftermarket head and amp, I'd go with full-range 6.5" speakers in both the doors and sail panels. I'd not bother with the rear hatch. which speaker model is up to whatever sounds best to you. I'd run new speaker wires, rather than trying to use the stock harness.

Yeah, new wires will be run no doubt.

I have the components so I'm not worried about the door speakers(I just have to find a place to mount the tweeters).

So you're also saying ditch the idea of the rear hatch speakers?

If you have full range in the sails, putting mids in the rear hatch doesn't add anything to the system.

Good point.

What if I did mids in the sails and full range in the hatch? Or are the hatch speakers too small to make any difference?
