Default What does everyone think of Audiobahn amps?

I have a set of Focal 165K components and am going to get a JL 10W6v2. The Focals are rated 160 watts, which I was thinking of powering with a Audiobahn A2401Q amp that is rated 140 X 2. The JL 10W6v2 is rated 400 watts at 4 ohms. Which I was thinking about powering with the Audiobahn A12001D amp. It's a mono 1200 watt amp that is rated at 400 watts at 4 ohms. Does this sound good? Any opinions on Audiobahn? Also, I purchased a Phoenix Gold Bass Cube a while back and was going to use it on my next system, but the Audiobahn amps have a bass **** already. The Bass Cube is supposed to add another 15db to the system. Here is the info on it http://www.phoenixgold.com/basscube.html Do I really need it with this system?

Thanks,
Dave

We have had one of the larger Audiobaun amps in our store for some time (don't remember the model number) now and finally sold it. It lasted about 5 minutes in a customers car before blowing up. I can't say this is a bad thing really cause I've seen this happen with other brands before too. But it does look kinda bad when it is the first one of their amps you have sold and it dies that quickly. I think I would stick with a Kicker or Memphis amp any day if your looking for something with a remote gain **** over the Audiobaun. As far as the Bass Cube goes it is a differnt type of ****. It is used to boost the bass signal before the amp, totally different from a bass ****. If you listen to mostly rap music it will probally make a lil difference but if you listen to alot of music that doesn't have as strong a bass notes in it the Bass Cube can take those frequencies and boost them up. Basically it can make any song hit like a bitch. A remote gain **** can only turn the bass down. The Bass Cube can let you hear bass you didn't even relize was there. So I would definately use it if you already had it. Also if you've never noticed a big difference with the Bass Cube there is a hidden potentiometer inside of it that may have been turned down when it was installed for fear you were gonna tear something up.

My friends local shop used to deal Audiobahn but he just had so many speakers and amps tear up it wasn't worth it. IMO their quality control is not good at all though some ppl get a good setup from them and it sounds good

I've used all audiobahn equipment for almost a year now with no problems (2300hcx and 2 1205x subs) I had 3 1200x subs before that and I've never had a problem before. I did blow 2 1200x subs but I was also pushing 1200RMS to 1 and the first one lasted about 3 days the 2nd one lasted almost 6 months and the 3rd one I only ran 800 too and I sold it to a friend and it's well over a year old now still thumping hard. I believe they make great products and as long as you buy from an authorized retailer you get a year warrenty no questions asked. I like there stuff but that's me and these 2 other people here don't really give details but have valid points when it comes to big companies quality control goes in the *******.

I am running all Audiobahn and so is a friend of mine. I have never had any problems but he has broken the "spider legs" on one of his subs. We both are running the cheapest 10's they make. We bought them on a trial basis-that was almost two years ago. Both of us are in the process of building new systems for our respective vehicles. Both will be 100% Audiobahn. I'm the racer-he is the stereo man of the bunch. He is going for SPL's in the 160's.

P.S.-Has anyone used the Pioneer 8400 head unit-the one with the motorized face? I hear bad things about them. I have always LOVED my Pioneer units-hope what I'm hearing is BS!

Whoa-not all Pioneer's-just the 8400. I love my pioneer head unit-always have liked them-always will. But I have heard of people having lots of trouble with the motor and the screens on this paticular one. Hope it isn't true-I still want one!

No probs with my 8400MP...the animations give me a headache at night. But it's still a bad-*** unit.

Audiobahn is like giving someone a chrome dipped piece of dog ****. It's shinny, but hey it's a piece of dog ****.

I had a Pioneer DEH-P8400MP and the secondary connection got borked on me. It would come on and open but acted like the face wasn't connected even when it was. I sold it to a guy that knew how to repair it and I didn't want to mess with it. I bought a Clarion 745 and had to repair the little clip that the face latches onto. Sound wise I think the Pioneer was a little better due to having a multi-band EQ while the Clarion only has a bass and treble control. I plan on getting something else in the near future and sell this Clarion to a friend or something to offset some of the cost.

Did you guys look at the dates??? Just for the record though, I just did a huge system in a guys Baja boat and those Audiobahn flame amps are a complete waste of money. They sound like horrible compared to a real soundquality amp, but some people like the "bling, bling"
