Default POLK 6.5 back seat speaker HELP

I just got the 6.5 polk speaker today and i'm trying to install them. The wires are hooked up but nothings playing. Its like bass are coming from them and the tweater are not playing. Do you know whats the problem. It seems like a simple install just hook and go. HELP there are 4ohm do they need to be 2ohm to work?

I'm assuming that you are still using the stock HU and amp? If so, is this the Monsoon system?

If you are still using the stock HU/amp, and the Polk speakers you have chosen are coaxials:

You will need to split up the wiring in order to wire the tweeter & woofer seperately. You'll have to look at the rear of your speakers - if the tweeter wires are run directly thru the woofer cone it's gonna be pretty hard to wire them up seperately.

It would be easier to tell you if we had a pic of the backside of the speaker showing the wiring, or at least the model of the speakers in question...

Make sure to disconnect the built in crossover in the coaxial speaker, which is probably just a capacitor, if you're going to do it that way.

The answer is simpler than that - the sail panel speakers are low-filtered from the Monsoon amp. You can do all the fiddling with the tweeters or crossovers that you want but you won't get highs from those wires. You could rewire to the hatch area speaker connections to get a full range signal. Or, you could just go with bass back there and leave the treble for the doors to provide the forward sound stage.

Its the polk audio DB650 6.5 coaxial it has the tweater built in it and I cant take it out. I want the highs no bass i'm not really a bass person. Everything is stock as far as the monsoon system goes. Just had a speaker blow and I wanted it replaced so my girlfriend brought me those didn't think it would be this hard.

Well, the original Monsoon system never had any highs from back there. The highs all come from the tweeters in the doors and the hatch area. The sail panel speakers were subs and produced nothing but bass. If you try to hook up only tweeters in the sail panels it will sound horrible.

You should get sound from the subs in the sail panels but it will only be low frequencies (bass). You can use the Polk speakers there but you will still only get bass from them unless you rewire. Or you can hang on to the Polk speakers and use them to replace the door speakers if they blow.
