Best place to mount an amp?

Installing a 10" stealthbox after factory Monsoon sail panels crapped out, was wondering where everyone has their amp located. Is is best to use the stealthbox itself for the amp as well?

A small amp will sit on the driver's side cubby hole fairly well. A larger amp looks good and is fairly hidden mounted on the back vertical wall below the courtesy light/hatch assembly.

Neither location is particularly good for show but they both hide the amp from passers-by well, look clean,and don't interfere with any function.

I have mine mounted in the center of the vertical wall underneath the hatch, looks good IMO

When mounting it under the hatch release, are there any obstacles that might get in the way (i.e. "don't drill through X). I have a slightly larger amp (an MTX that used to be in my WRX) than the stock Monsoon amp that I removed, and as long as I'm clear I'd love to mount it under the hatch release...

I have mine mounted to the rear wall of the hatch. This is a very nice location. I have pics in the sig.

That is where my 3 JL amps will be but on a rack attached to the rear hatch wall.

Hey, if you want to spend a few bucks you can get one of these Amp Rack you can also get a good deal on a package consisting of an amp rack, driver and passenger side stealthboxes.
