Default Door/sail Panel Speaker Replacements?

I was thinking about getting rid of the factory door and sail panel speakers. The system is stock except for the HU. What would work? I plan on adding a sub in the near future, but I'm only going to be able to replace stuff piece by piece for now.For the doors I was thinking about getting Infinitiy 62.7i,what ya think?

Depends what you're looking for....
Infinity 62.7i is a pretty good choice for the doors - especially if you plan on keeping the factory amp to power them. You cannot (typically) run them off of HU power, as they have an impedance of 2 ohms. Those speakers would be dying for a separate amp anyway, given the power they can handle.

Be sure to listen to the Infinity speakers before you buy them. They're good speakers but a number of people have complained that they are too bright for their taste.

I agree. I personally find the Infinitys very bright, but I do think they make a pretty good speaker if that doesn't bother you. You can get them in 2 or 4 ohms, I think.

Any other brand I should check out instead of the Infinity?I already have an amp that is 4ch. Here's the specs for the amp.... RMS wattage 4 Ohms 100 watts x 4 chan.
2 Ohms: 150 watts x 4 chan.
4 Ohms Bridged: 300 watts x 2 chan.

Agreed! They are too bright for me. I wish I had known that before I bought them

I replaced my Focal Utopias with CDT's and they handle bass & mid bass wonderfully without any overexcusion even at 100 watts rms.

Just noticed that they are 4ohm,would like 2ohm so I don't have to rewire everything. That's bad though, cause I liked the look of them.

Aftermarket 4 ohm speakers are more efficient than factory speakers, so the impedance difference will typically be made up in sensitivity. Ideally you would want a 2 ohm impedance over 4 ohms (given identical sensitivity readings) but 4 ohm speakers are used often (probably more often) as replacements than 2 ohm impedances.

I use the ebay for most of my CDT purchases. Ebay has WAY better prices!! ES-620 Gold are $799.00 on that link. $399.00 on ebay. By the way I'm a HUGE fan of CDT as well and it's nice to see some people finally using them. Anyone use or hear the subs??!! I am thinking of ditching my JL W3's for CDT HD-10SQ's.

You wouldn't have to rewire anything as these are highly efficient speakers so the difference between 4ohm and 2 ohm is negligable using these or other high end speakers.

So I could wire them the same as the factory door speakers, but since they are of better quality, they would still sound better eventhough they are 4 ohm because of the sensitivity? BTW,are these the ones?

I am putting eu-700 in the sail panels. What kind of sound can i expect from this setup? Can the monsoon amp handle this until I can get a 4ch amp?

You're fine with Eu700s in the sails off of stock amp power.

Yes, they would without any doubt sound better most likely at the same volume or greater volume. If CDT made a 2 ohm model, you would definitely prefer that one....but since they're much more efficient than factory speakers and most aftermarket speakers as well, you will be more than fine.

One last thing,I think that the factory door speakers use 4 wires, would the CDT use all of them? If so,would they connect the same? And are those the correct speakers on ebay?
